History

at St Wilfrid's CE Primary School

“We are not makers of history. We are made by history." - Dr Martin Luther King Junior

Our History curriculum has been built around our Christian vision of Belonging, Believing, Becoming. This vision is rooted in the Parable of the Mustard Seed which shows us how great things grow from small beginnings (Mark 4:30-32). It teaches children how our lives and life situations, are directly linked to the lives of those who came before us.

St Wilfrid’s CE is in Northenden, Manchester and is part of the Thrive CE Academy Trust. St Wilfrid’s is also part of the Wythenshawe cluster, which is in the top 20% of deprived areas in England. The number of children receiving the pupil premium funding at St Wilfrid’s is above the national figure at 21%. Our curriculum has been designed to equip children with the knowledge and cultural capital they require to succeed in life and understand more about their own past.
