Nursery Admissions

Applications for Nursery places are to be made through school.  We have a 39 place Nursery. The admission criteria, as set out in the admissions policy, is applied when determining the offer of a place. All nursery places are offered on a part time (15 hours) or a full time basis (30 hours).  Full time places are via, if eligible the 30 hour code or can be topped up with contributions from parents/carers. If you wish to make an application, please complete the downloadable form on this page, and email this to school using the email link.

Before your child begins in Nursery you will be invited to visit. You can meet our staff, see our great space and see our wonderful Nursery in action.

Reception Admissions

St Wilfrid's CE Primary School is a one and half form entry primary school for children aged 4-11. Every September we welcome 45 children into our reception class. Pupils are admitted in the September of the academic year in which they turn five.

Admission arrangements to the Reception are separate to those for the Nursery. Attendance at the Nursery does not give a child any guarantee of priority when it comes to admission to the Reception class. Parents must make a separate application for a Reception place. All applications for Reception places in Manchester schools are to be submitted via the Local Authority. Admissions forms must be completed via Manchester City Council’s schools website, and should be submitted in the January before you wish your child to start at St Wilfrid’s.

In Year Applications

Parents and carers who would like to enroll their child at our school at another age group, may request a place through the local authority.

Application Procedures

All parent/carers are required to apply to their home Local Authority (LA) regards of where the school/academy they are applying is situated.  Manchester residents will apply to Manchester LA.  The LA will liaise with other Admissions Authorities in Manchester and other LAs where required.  Manchester LA will inform parent/carers in writing of the outcome of their application.

Application forms are available from www.manchester.gov.uk/admissions and can be requested by phone on 0161 245 7166.  They should be returned to:

Integrated Admissions Service
Manchester City Council,
P.O. Box 532,
Town Hall,
Manchester,
M60 2LA

Or

school.admissions@manchester.gov.uk

These admission arrangements apply to applicants seeking a place in Reception up to year 6. Applications for admission to a nursery of a Manchester school/academy will be dealt with by the school, not by the LA.

You can view our full Admissions Policy on our Policies page, see the quick link at the bottom of this page.

Admission arrangements for St Wilfrid's are set by our Governing Body.  We are the Admission Authority for their establishment.  Our Governing Body are responsible for drafting, consulting on and determining our admission arrangements.
